They were overjoyed and praised each other. We’re referring to Salman Khan and Palak Muchhal. Palak referred to him as her ‘Godfather,’ and she made no apologies for how he had paved her way into B-town. So, when she married composer-singer Mithoon Sharma a few weeks ago, we all assumed Salman would be present. But, my God! Mr Khan was nowhere to be found, nor was his sister Arpita, who was also thought to be near to Palak.
Tongues wagging at the wedding, but those close to Palak knew Salman would not attend. “If he hadn’t been in town, he would have gone because Palak and Salman were such good friends,” a source claims.
Clearly, we are informing you that Palak and Salman are no longer close friends. According to a source, the two had drifted apart. “There has been some repercussions,” adds the source.
According to the source, Salman was also not expected to attend the shaadi because of his unpleasant incident with Palak’s husband Mithoon a few years back. “But, as you can see, he has ceased talking about Palak, and Palak has stopped talking about him for a long time. When the dispute between them began, her marriage to Mithoon was unverified. It is unknown why it has remained undetected to this day.”
For those who are new to the story, Salman and Mithoon had a verbal spat during an award ceremony in 2014. The show’s host interrupted Mithoon’s acceptance speech to point to a piece of paper sticking to his bottom. This irritated Mithoon, who was onstage accepting an award for the song ‘Tum hi ho’ from ‘Aashiqui 2’. He retorted that this was unavoidable due to the dreary evening and Salman’s lengthy talks. Salman became enraged and yelled at Mithoon, “Chal jaa. “Nikal yahan se,” he says. “Sir, main aap se nahin darta,” Mithoon said.
What exactly went wrong between Salman and Palak, though, remains unknown to us. According to our insider, Salman is upset with Palak for legitimate reasons, and it was he who flashed the red flag in their dosti.
When approached, Palak’s brother Palash defended her. He said there was no fallout and that it was Salman’s staff that arranged Palak’s shaadi, and that Salman had even blessed her. “Salman was unable to attend due to family health difficulties,” Palash explained.
When we begged Palak to speak, she remained silent. She did not return our phone calls or text messages.
